My friend dead Zoe is a dark comic drama that follows the journey of merit (Sonequa Martin-Green), a veteran of the American army Afghanistan who is in contrast with his family thanks to the presence of Zoe (Natalie Morales), his own Best friend who died the army. Despite the persistence of his councilor of the group Va (Morgan Freeman), the hard love of his mother (Gloria Reuben) and the lightness of an unexpected love interest, the welcoming dysfunctional friendship of Merit with Zoe maintains the duo isolated from the world. This until the foreign grandfather of Merit (and Harris) – locked up in the ancestral house of the family lake – begins to lose the road and needs the only thing he refuses … help. At the base, this is a friendly film on a complicated friendship, a divided family and the complex ways in which we elaborate the pain.
